Biodiesel is a fuel produced by mixing different renewable feedstock (oils and fats), methanol and a catalyst and can be used as a substitute fuel or added to fossil diesel. The chemical process is transesterification of the mixture in the presence of a catalyst. After partitioning and purification the end products are biodiesel and glycerol (around 10%).
